Hello. I’m Lindsay Pozzi
LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Sociology from Illinois State University in 2004. I received my Master of Social Work from Aurora University in 2008. I am passionate about my work in the mental health field and have been working in the Social Work field for 21 years.
I provide individual and family counseling to teenagers, adults, older adults and families. I enjoy working with people on a variety of issues including coping with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, chronic pain, medical diagnoses, trauma, grief, self-injury, emotional regulation, stress management, anger management, school/employment stress, parent/child conflict, relational conflicts, life transitions, and overall life stressors.
I realize that not one counseling approach works with every person, so I incorporate many different theories and interventions into my work. I use evidence-based practices such as, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Strengths Based Perspective.
I understand that seeking services can be difficult and I am here to help you cope with whatever stressors you are facing. I am my authentic self as a clinician and will embrace humor in our therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space for clients as well as their families. I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental environment. It is truly rewarding to help assist my clients in improving their quality of life and move from just surviving to thriving.
