Ashley Phillips - Becoming Free Counseling

Hello. I’m Ashley.

A LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER IN ROCKFORD, IL

I am the founder of Becoming Free Counseling Services, established in 2023 and located in Rockford, IL.

I have a decade of experience working as a therapist and am passionate about helping people become free from the barriers that hold them back from experiencing a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Whether these are due to relationship issues, grief, trauma, and mental health issues or because of a lack of confidence or self-awareness, we can work together on breaking through some of these issues and helping you obtain a life you desire and deserve.

BE someone's reason to smile - Becoming Free Counseling

I value safety, a person’s right to self-determination, and that we all have strengths. I incorporate these values into sessions by creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental atmosphere. I take a client-centered approach when working with people. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I am a guide to assist you in obtaining the goals you desire. While we all have things we can work on, I focus on your strengths and how these strengths have helped you get through life this far.

I work with people ages 12 and older. I have experience working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, life transitions, grief, trauma and personal growth. I understand that mental health and substance use disorders affect the family as well as the individual, and I am passionate about working with family members who are struggling with a loved one’s disorder.
